  7.     Is it any surprise that OLIVER NORTH can act? Last week
  8. the telegenic ex-colonel taped an episode of Wings, a sitcom
  9. about a small commuter airline. The role is hardly a stretch:
  10. North, as himself, persuades pilot STEVEN WEBER to let him ride
  11. up front, then gives him a copy of his new book. Will the
  12. quirky cameo win Ollie an Emmy? "He's a very, very good actor,"
  13. says executive producer David Lee. "And he took direction quite
  14. well." Gee, where did he learn to do that?
